A 22-year-old man, Sunday Gmaed, has been sentenced to three months imprisonment for stealing seven chickens valued at N57,000 from a poultry belonging to OloniyoOlasehinde.
The defendant, who pleaded guilty to the crime, was arraigned before a Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti.
The prosecutor, Inspector Elijah Adejare, stated that the defendant, on June 28, at about 9:30 pm in Ado-Ekiti, stole the seven fowls.
He added that the offence is punishable under Section 302(1)(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
Barrister Stephen Alabi represented the defendant in court on July 2 and 10, 2025.
The Magistrate, Mrs. K. O. Awosika, sentenced the defendant to a three-month jail term with an option of a N30,000 fine.
