  A Grade 1 Area Court, Karu, has sentenced a 19-year-old man, Sadiq Abdullahi, to five months imprisonment for stealing his neighbour’s items worth N10,500.

Abdullahi, who resides at Gamji Road, Karu village, had pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of criminal trespass and theft and begged for leniency.

The judge, Hassan Ishaq, in his judgment, gave the convict an option to pay N13,000 fine.

The prosecutor, Vincent Osiji, had told the court that one Yahaya Mohammed of same address with the defendant, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station on Feb. 27.

Osiji said the complainant alleged that the convict trespassed into his house at mid-night of Feb. 23, and stole some valuable items worth N10,500 and sold them to one Nasiru. (NAN)
