A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos, on Monday, sentenced 34-year-old Joshua Michael to five years in a correctional center for theft and breach of the peace.
The convict was said to have stolen gate and antenna poles.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Nurudeen Layeni, handed down the sentence after the defendant pleaded guilty to a two-count charge bordering on the offenses.
Layeni sentenced the convict to a five-year term without the option of a fine.
Earlier, the prosecutor, ASP Edet Ekpo, informed the court that the convict committed the offences on February 20, at about 3pm at Golden Estate, Mosafejo, Badagry.
According to the prosecution, the defendant broke a gate and stole the gate poles along with several antenna poles, the total value of which is yet to be determined. (NAN)
