A Kano Shari’a Court No.1 sitting in Fagge ‘Yan Alluna, has sentenced a man to six months imprisonment for stealing a sacrificial lamb at Unguwar Dabai of Gwale LGA of the state.
Prosecuting counsel, Brr. Mustapha Zaharaddeen, said the convict, Ahmad Sa’id Dandinshe, broke into the house of a woman, Maryam Hamza and made away with her sacrificial ram at Unguwar Dabai area.
He was charged with criminal trespass and stealing, to which he pleaded guilty.
Khadi Umar Lawan Abubakar sentenced him to six months imprisonment or to pay a fine of N15, 000.
He was also ordered to be given 60 strokes of the cane on charges of trespass and six months jail term on charges of stealing in addition with another 60 strokes of the cane.
