A Magistrate Court 25 sitting in Gyadi-Gyadi, Kano, has sentenced one Adamu Yahaya to six months imprisonment with an option of N5,000 fine for criminal conspiracy, house breaking and theft.

Yahaya, a male resident of Sharada area in the state metropolis, was arraigned for the three offences which contradicted sections 97, 287 and 349 of the Penal Code.

One Abdulqadir Tukuntawa reported the case to the police that the accused had conspired with one Nura, now at large, broke into a coppers’ lodge and stole a laptop computer, the First Information Report (FIR), revealed.

However, the FIR added that for the timely intervention of some corps members and members of vigilante group in the Tukuntawa quarters, who pursued them, the accused abandoned the computer in an uncompleted building and ran away.

When the charge sheet was read to the accused, he pleaded guilty to all the three charges leveled against him.

In view of his admission, the presiding judge, Magistrate Abubakar Maiwada, awarded the accused with six months imprisonment with an option of N5, 000 fine.
