The police in Edo State have arrested a 43-year-old man, Ovie Oktogbo, who specialises in raping boys of between the ages of 10 and 15.
The suspect, an indigene of Delta State and father of three, who resides at No 15 Ugboguhi Street, Ugbowo, Benin City, was arrested following complaint from a victim.
It was gathered that the suspect, who works as a security man in the area, usually lured his victims with N100 and N200 to rape them through the anus and was said to have raped six minors before he was arrested.
Mr Kontongs said, “The suspect specialised in using N100 to N200 to lure his victims who are children and teenagers between the ages of 10 and 15 to have unnatural carnal knowledge of them through their anus by applying bleaching cream on both his manhood and the victims’ anus as the case may be for easy penetration.”
He said luck ran out on him when his 13-year-old victim fell ill with swollen feet, face and pus all over his body, explaining that the victim’s medical examination revealed that his liver and kidney are damaged as a result of a certain chemical contained in bleaching creams applied on them by the victim.
He said the victim’s parents reported to the police after the boy confessed to them that the suspect forcibly had carnal knowledge of him after applying cream in his anus.
He further said the suspect had since confessed to have defiled nine boys, and that six of them had already been identified, noting that their parents also made formal complaints to the police.
In a related development, Justice Amina Bello of the Kaduna State High Court, on Thursday, ordered that Ashafa Jibril be remanded in a correctional facility for sodomising a 12-year-old boy.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Ms Florence Hassan, informed the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in November, 2021, at his residence, by luring the 12-year-old boy into his room and drugging him before sodomising him.
