Man pardoned for ‘enticing’ neighbor’s wife

A middle-aged man Munkaila Sani was pardoned by his neighbor Ishaq Sani for allegedly enticing his wife Wasila Ishaq.
Sani of Gayawa quarters of Ungogo local government area, was earlier dragged to Kano State Shari’a Court sitting at Yan Alluna, Fagge by Ishaq Sani for allegedly attempting to allure his wife.
The police First Information Report (FIR), read to the accused person stated that being a co-tenant with the complainant, he used to seduce his (complainant’s) wife by entering her bedroom in the night whenever he travelled out of town.
Police prosecuting officer, Ahmad Musa further told the court that recently when the complainant traveled to Senegal, the accused person entered into his wife’s bedroom almost half naked.
The accused person faced a one-count charge of enticing a married woman; an offence contrary to Section 173 of Kano state Shari’ah Penal Code Law.
When asked by the court, the accused denied the content of the FIR.
However, when the case come up on Monday February 8, for continuation of hearing   the complainant told the court that he had forgiven the accused the person.
In view of the development, Abubakar Ayagi ruled that under section 339 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the complainant has the right to forgive the accused and therefore discharged the accused and dismissed the case.
