A man said to be around 44 years old was recovered dead on Monday by men of the state fire service around 10am inside the Agba Dam in Ilọrin South LGA of Kwara State following a distress call by one Mr Onikepe Bolaji.

The spokesman of the service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, who confirmed the incident, said the corpse was handed over to DSP Achimugu Samuel of the state police command in the presence of the state’s Commissioner for Water Resources, Usman Lade.

Another source in the fire service told City & Crime that, “For now we don’t know the remote cause of his death, but he had deep cuts on his head and injuries on other parts of his body; fueling a possible clash or attack which the police will unravel.

“He was well-dressed with a beautiful black jumper top; and from experience, the corpse had spent about three days inside the river.”
