Man remanded for allegedly stabbing friend to death

A 20-year-old man, Abdullahi A. Bawa, has been remanded in prison custody by Chief Magistrate Court II in Yola, Adamawa State, over allegations of stabbing his friend to death during a dispute over a controlled substance.

According to the police report, the incident occurred on April 25, 2025, when Bawa allegedly stabbed Baba Ali on the chest with a pair of scissors, which resulted in his death.

A woman, identified as Hasim, was also injured in the altercation and is currently receiving treatment.

The prosecutor, Inspector NanugiTayeri, informed the court that Bawa, who has been a habitual offender, was arrested for causing grievous hurt and culpable homicide, offences punishable under Sections 218 and 191 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa State.

Magistrate A.M. Adamu ordered Bawa’s remand in prison custody and adjourned the case for further investigations.
