Man remanded for allegedly threatening to kill mother in Kano

A Shari’a Court in Kano has ordered that one Nasiru Bala be remanded in a correctional facility for allegedly threatening his mother and siblings.

Bala is facing charges of threat to kill, intoxication, and theft. His mother told the court that he frequently comes home late at night while drunk, bangs on the gate, and even climbs the fence to steal from her and his siblings.

When the charges were read, Bala admitted to intoxication but denied the allegations of theft and making threats.

The presiding judge, Shamsuddeen Ado Abdullahi Unguwar Gini, ordered his remand and adjourned the case to October 23 for continuation of hearing.
