City & Crime reports that the suspect was arraigned on one-count charge of rape punishable under Section (1) of the Edo State Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law.

The prosecutor, Mrs Hamma Iyamu, told the court that the suspect sometime in October, 2022, at the Ohovbe Quarters in Benin, raped the girl.
The defendant pleaded not guilty, but Justice Efe Ikponmwonba ordered his remand and adjourned the case to June 10.
