A magistrates’ court sitting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has ordered the remand of a man, Àdebayo Tomiwa (27), at the correctional centre in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged murder.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant was reasonably suspected to have committed an offence of murder contrary to and punishable under Section 234 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021 within the Omuo-Ekiti Magisterial District.
Inspector Oriyomi urged the court to remand the defendant for 30 days pending advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Represented by Barrister O. G. Abiola, the plea of the defendant was not taken.
The Magistrate, Mr Abayomi Adeosun, ordered the remand of the respondent until January 19, 2026.
