A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of one Adewumi Similoluwa at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre over an alleged case of murder.
The prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that the defendant is reasonably suspected of committing the offences of conspiracy and murder contrary to and punishable under Sections 234 and 244 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.
The prosecutor stated that further investigation is required and noted that the original case file has been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
He subsequently requested that the motion ex parte for remand be granted.
The plea of the defendant was not taken. The defendant was represented by counsel, Barrister Ademuwagun Stephen.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, ordered the defendant to be remanded at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Center and adjourned the case until April 10, for hearing.
