A Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has remanded one Onolalu Obi (42) at the Correctional Centre in Ado-Ekiti over an alleged attempted rape.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant, on or about October 2, 2025, at Ado-Ekiti attempted to rape a 6-year-old minor.

Inspector Oriyomi stated that the alleged act is an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 268 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Adeyinka Opaleke, urged the court to admit his client to bail, arguing that he would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, denied the defendant bail and adjourned the case until November 14, for hearing.
