Man remanded over alleged theft of motorcycle worth N1.5m

A Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered that 35-year-old Ibrahim Ismaila be remanded in correctional custody over allegations of stealing.

The prosecutor, Inspector Apata Olubu, informed the court that there is probable cause to remand the defendant. 

Ismaila is suspected of conspiracy, burglary, and the theft of a TVS “ladies” motorcycle valued at N1,500,000, property of one Augustine Felix.

Inspector Olubu stated that the offenses took place within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District on January 29, 2026, at approximately 4:00 AM.

The prosecutor noted that the charges are punishable under Sections 421, 322(c), and 302 of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State (2021).

Presiding Magistrate Ajibade P. T. ordered that the defendant be remanded in correctional custody pending further proceedings.

The case was adjourned until March 31, for hearing.
