A Gombe State Chief Magistrate Court, has ordered one Bello Lawan to be remanded in prison custody over alleged criminal conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping and rape.

The accused, of Nahuta village in Alkaleri LGA of Bauchi State, was alleged to have sometime in October 2018 conspired with someone, now at large, armed themselves with two Ak47 riffle, cutlasses and sticks and invaded a house at Ayaba village in Billiri LGA of Gombe State at night.

The court was told that the duo attacked the owner of the house and carted away his motorcycle valued at N210,000 and also kidnapped his wife, and demanded the sum of N1million as ransom. The accused person, however, pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge labeled against him and the presiding judge, Chief Magistrate Japhet Maida, adjourned the case to December 4.
