A 32-year-old man, Goni Umbadu, has been killed while several houses were set ablaze over grass theft in Yobe State.
The fight occurred in Saleri village, Yunusari Local Government Area of the state.
Multiple sources said the incident occurred when the deceased had confronted one Haruna Mai Pampy over theft of grass meant for animal feed.
The misunderstanding led to a violent altercation in which Haruna stabbed Goni multiple times in the stomach, chest and back with a knife.

The deceased was rushed to the Specialist Hospital in Geidam, where a medical doctor confirmed him dead.
In a reprisal attack following the incident, irate youths set fire to five thatched houses belonging to Fulani residents in the community.
The crisis escalated into the community, forcing many people to flee their houses.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Police Command, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said the suspected killer and several other irate youths had been arrested over the incident.
