The Kano State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has secured the conviction of one Abubakar Muazu who stabbed and killed one of its officers.
The spokesman of the command, Sadiq Muhammad Maigatari, said that the agency also secured the 22 other convictions in July, 2024.
He said, “Among those convicted is Abubakar Muazu, whose arrest was marked by a dangerous altercation that saw an NDLEA officer being stabbed by Muazu himself. The officers held their ground and apprehended Muazu despite the obstinacy of Muazu and his group, which resulted in the discovery and recovery of various illicit substances hidden by the perpetrator.
“Abubakar Muazu has been sentenced to three years in prison by Hon Justice MN Yunusa of the Federal High Court 2 sitting in Kano. This verdict not only serves as justice for the crimes committed but also sends a strong message to others who seek to obstruct the NDLEA in carrying out its important mandate.”
