Manhunt for police killers in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Command of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has said that it has begun a manhunt for the killers of a policeman who was found dead at 5am around SCOA Motors in Unguwan Shanu area of the state on Tuesday.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mukhtar Aliyu, who identified the victim as Sergeant Haruna Abdullahi, said he was on his way back from the Tactical Operation Division (TOD) located around Lord Luggard roundabout where he was attached to when he meet his death.

He assured that the command has dispatched personnel to hunt down the culprits and bring them to book adding that investigation is ongoing.

It could be recalled that a policeman was shot thrice in his chest, stomach and shoulder on Tuesday in Kaduna.

Sources in the area alleged that he encountered some armed robbers on the way home to New Barracks where he resided from his duty post when he met his death.

A member of the community who pleaded anonymity said, “We found the body when we came out of our houses for the morning prayer and quickly alerted the police. 

“Many people suspect that he encountered some armed robbers coming back from an operation, who shot him and took away his gun.”
