A trader in the market, who simply identified herself as Rachael, told our reporter that they were in the market when they saw a Sienna vehicle with four occupants brandishing guns with their heads out of the windows.
The eyewitness said there was chaos as the armed robbers drove with speed into Bishop Okoye street while being chased by police officers.

Another trader told our reporter that the gunmen were intercepted and arrested at Abuja/Olu-Obasanjo Road in Port Harcourt.
“This morning as we displayed our wares for the day we saw a Sienna car speeding towards our direction. We later discovered that the vehicle had armed robbers that were being chased by the police. The vehicle rammed into some traders that had displayed their wares on the road injuring many of them. Some goods were destroyed in the process,” the source stated.
When contacted, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe, confirmed the incident.
She said three suspects were arrested while one of the suspects escaped.
