She revealed the names on Twitter, after previously hinting to fans that the names began with the letter “M”. Daughter Monroe is named after Mariah’s long-term idol Marilyn Monroe, and does not have a nickname because the singer herself does not have one.

The baby boy’s name is significant to Mariah and husband Nick Cannon because he proposed to her in the Moroccan Room of her New York City apartment, the singer’s representative explained.

Cindi Berger told CNN: “It has been a long, emotional journey for this family, and I couldn’t be happier for all of them.”

Mariah and Nick welcomed their new son and daughter on their third wedding anniversary.
