In a twist to the EFCC case against Mark Obisesan, Obusesan has presented evidence supporting his claim of innocence concerning the alleged fake travellers cheque.

The court admitted messages revealing his attempts to seek a refund and communications with travelex for verification.

Mr Obisesan’s testimony shed lights on a few areas that had been unclear in the past four years. The first was that according to his testimony, the EFCC claimed they crashed into his home on the suspicion that he was into internet fraud. Having found no evidence to substantiate their claims, they stumbled on a travelers cheque which Mr Obisesan had kept to return to the second defendant having discovered they they were fake and began demanding for a refund.

In a short interview after trial, Mr Obisesan who was reluctant to speak to the media said “the facts will prove my innocence. I am victim who is now being subjected to this difficult situation and very soon i’d prove my innocence.”
