The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has urged party members to prioritise discipline, loyalty and commitment as the party seeks to strengthen its structures and position itself as a credible alternative for Nigerians.
Mark made the call on Tuesday while receiving the report of the party’s Constitution Review Committee at its headquarters in Abuja.
Represented by the National Legal Adviser, Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, the ADC chairman stressed that Nigerians are yearning for a viable political alternative, charging members to work collectively to make the party that platform.
He described the party’s constitution as more than a guiding document, noting that it embodies the collective aspirations of members.
“The constitution is not just a document; it is the soul of our collective aspirations. It defines who we are, what we stand for, and how we organise ourselves to serve the Nigerian people,” he said.
Mark emphasised that the ongoing review must reflect present realities and address the expectations of members, particularly in strengthening internal democracy, transparency and accountability within the party.
He assured that the leadership would thoroughly examine the committee’s recommendations in line with the party’s core values of fairness, justice and equity, as well as the broader national interest.
