Rubin won the Russian league championship for the second straight year in 2009.   

The 25-year-old Martins joined Wolfsburg last season from relegated English club Newcastle United on a contract that would have taken him till 2013.

The contract was worth nine million euros.   

However, he struggled to pin down a regular first-team shirt at the defending German champions. He scored six goals in 16 matches for Wolfsburg.   

According to German sports magazine, Kicker, Martins has teamed up with his fourth European club after featuring for Inter Milan in Italy, Newcastle and lately Wolfsburg.   

‘Obagoalâ’ starred for Nigeria at the 2010 World Cup, where the Super Eagles failed to go past the first round.
