Masari signs N213.6b 2018 appropriation bill

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has signed the 2018 appropriation bill of N213.6 billion into law with assurance of effective implementation.

The governor had four weeks ago presented a budget proposal of N211.4 billion, but the Legislature raised it by about N2.6 billion. 

Speaking during the budget signing event, Masari said the people of the state were the focus of the budget, stressing that the budget would be vigorously implemented for the well-being of the people.

He said the speed at which the Legislature worked on the budget showed their commitment to advancement for the people, and that the collaboration between the Executive and the Legislature was needed to move the state forward.

Earlier, the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Abubakar Kusada, told the governor that the appropriation bill was thoroughly scrutinized to ensure things were well captured in tandem with the aspiration of the people.
