The much awaited Hausa movie on rape titled, “Matakin Karshe” which projects and addresses the twin evils of incessant rape and murder in the Hausa society is set for premiere this January.
The movie written, produced and co-directed by Hassan Ahmad the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Haszain Global Resources Limited, has been termed as a pioneering attempt to change the industry’s focus to addressing social vices affecting the nations as against the traditional love theme that has characterized the Kannywood movies.
 According to the CEO, the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) and a non-governmental organization Voices of Widows Orphans and Divorcees Association of Nigeria (VOWAN), were collaborating partners in the production of the movie. He also hinted that a lot of important personalities within and outside the shore of the ancient city of Kano would grace the occasion.
Ahmad listed Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his Jigawa counterpart, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar among the expected guests at the occasion, while the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II would be royal father of day.
 He added that several other top government officials, traditional rulers, the academia and creative arts family as well as the business community were also expected to grace the occasion.
The movie starred actors and actresses like Shehu Hassan Kano, Bashir Nayaya, popularly known in Kannywood as Dan Magori, Kabiru Nakwango, Habibu Sani, Abdullahi Sani Abdullahi (Baba Karami), Hanatu Bashir, Hauwa Garba Mamman and Hassan Ahmad (Haszain) among others.
