The Arewa Youths Consultative Forum (AYCF) has told Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State to address the state’s pressing challenges and not engage in distracting the Minister of State for Defense, Bello Mohammed Matawalle.

In a statement by its President, Yerima Shettima, the group argued that Governor Lawal’s actions are not only detrimental to the progress of Zamfara State but also a disservice to its citizens.

Shettima said: “Instead of addressing the pressing security concerns in the state, Lawal has resorted to using his predecessor’s name to deflect blame and avoid accountability. This strategy not only undermines the trust of the citizens but also hampers any potential progress in resolving the security crisis.

“Matawalle’s position as a minister demands his full attention and dedication to national security matters. Exploiting his name for personal gain not only distracts from his responsibilities but also attempts to undermine the trust placed in him by the federal government.

“We call on President Bola Tinubu to be cautious of agenda aimed at crippling the growing popularity of his administration which is promoted and protected by his Defense Minister, Matawalle.”
