The royal father said the state government should adopt a policy by which 10 students from each of the 17 local government areas of the state would be offered admission into the school of nursing and midwifery and be given scholarships in order to have more health workers in the state.

The royal father who is also the vice chairman of the Yobe State Council of Chiefs, stated this at a medical forum organised by the Partnership for Reviving Routine Immunization in Northern Nigeria and Maternal and Newborn Child Health Initiative (PRRINN/MNCH).

He also advised that government should sponsor six female and four male students from each of the 17 local governments to study health related issues as a pilot scheme for the next 10 years.
