Iyanya, who won the maiden edition of Project Fame in 2008, released his debut R’n’B album ‘My Story’ in 2011 to tepid reviews.
He then suffered a series of misfortunes that almost crushed him. He lost his brother and mum, and with a musical career that seemed headed south in a rush, it all looked like he was no more than a flash in the pan.
Then Iyanya ditched R’n’B for Afropop and dropped the mega hit ‘Kukere’, which blew up, making the Etighi dance a dance-floor marvel.
He followed up with the very risqué ‘Your Waist’ and then ‘Flavour’.
In no time, Iyanya has become an A-list music star and the toast of concert organisers.
His fans have been waiting patiently for a full body of work, and now with days to go until he releases the album they are anxious to see it holds.
