Obinna Simon, popularly known as MC Tagwaye, has paid tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari who passed away on Sunday after a brief illness.
The former Nigerian leader died in a London hospital.
He was 82.
In a statement on Sunday, Simon, who is the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for AMAC Chairmanship, said Buhari’s contributions to Nigeria’s development will continue to inspire future generations.
The statement said: “It is with a heavy heart that I, Dr. Obinna Simon, popularly known as MC Tagwaye, and the current Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for AMAC Chairmanship, received the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR. On behalf of my family, the SDP family, and my numerous supporters, I extend our deepest condolences to the Buhari family, the government, and the good people of Nigeria.
“The late President Buhari’s legacy is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the growth and development of our great nation. His unrelenting efforts to combat corruption, revamp the economy, and promote peace and stability will forever be remembered. As a nation, we take solace in the fact that his contributions to Nigeria’s development will continue to inspire future generations.
“As a Buhari mimicker and a servant-leader, I have always drawn inspiration from his leadership style and commitment to public service. His passing leaves a void in our nation’s leadership, and his absence will be deeply felt. I pray that Almighty Allah grants his family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and that the late President’s soul finds eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.
“As we mourn the loss of this great leader, I urge Nigerians to come together in solidarity and continue to build on the foundations laid by President Buhari. Let us strive to uphold the values of integrity, hard work, and patriotism that he embodied.
