Eilish McColgan will belatedly make her debut at this year’s London Marathon, competing over 26.2 miles for the first time.
The European and Commonwealth medallist, 34, has previously competed over 3,000m, 5,000m, 10,000m and half marathon.
Her mother, Liz, won the London Marathon in 1996 and Eilish had planned to compete at the 2023 event until injuries prevented her participation.
“I’m really looking forward to making my marathon debut in London this year,” the Scot said.
