The police has arraigned one Akeem Basiru, in a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating.
Basiru, who resides at Jabi Motor Park, Abuja, had pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of breach of trust and cheating.
The prosecutor, Zannan Dalhatu, had told the court that one Godfrey Ohaman of Bwari, Abuja, reported the matter at Utako Police Station, Abuja, on April 14.
Dalhatu said the complainant, sometime in January gave the defendant his Nissan bus to repair and that he charged him N38,000.
He said Ohaman made part payment to the defendant and promised to complete the payment when the bus was ready.
The prosecutor said on the complainant’s return, he discovered that two of the seats worth N20,000 were missing.
Dalhatu said the offences contravened sections 312 and 322 of the penal code.
The judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N20,000, with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until May 9, for hearing. (NAN)
