A Kano magistrate court has sentenced an auto mechanic, Hassan Abdulkadir to six months imprisonment for smoking Indian hemp and possession of weapons.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Sani Musa told the court that a member of Mariri vigilante group, who reported the matter to the police, said that they had apprehended the accused person with dangerous weapons while smoking marijuana.
The accused person pleaded guilty to the two-court charge of possession of weapon and smoking Indian hemp contrary to sections 306 and 240 of the Penal Code Law.
The Presiding Judge, Senior Magistrate Fatihu Yassar sentenced the accused to six months imprisonment or pay N20, 000 fine.
