The Nigerian old system of farming is backing the wrong horse because the 21st-century world has shifted to the modern system which is changing approach to agricultural innovation to produce food in large quantity.

The crude method can’t sustain the population of over 200 million Nigerians. We must rethink outside the box. A stabilising factor needs to be introduced, to at least bring succour and fight hunger in the land.

A project as big as feeding the nation requires a lot of commitment. This is where the provision and making good use of sophisticated tractors and other implements come in.

It is, therefore, imperative for governments to fully support mechanised farming, especially where there’s abundant land.
