Media Trust Limited is to partner with the Department of Mass Communication, Bayero University, Kano (BUK), on how to mentor students with the practical aspect of journalism.

The partnership was agreed with the department when the Bureau Chief, Kano Regional Office of the company, Clement A. Oloyede, visited the department and interacted with selected students that showed interest in print and multimedia journalism.

He tasked the students to embrace the habit of writing from school, which he said would prepare them for the task ahead.

The head of the department, Dr Mainasara Yakubu Kurfi, appreciated the management of Media Trust for the gesture, which he said would go a long way in equipping the students with practical experience.

On his part, the Sub-Dean, Academics, Faculty of Communication, Dr Gambo Shehu Nababa, enlightened the students on the various sources of news across the campus, saying, “Within the university alone, you can get as many stories as possible that can be published in Daily Trust.”
