The MD said, “Media Trust will partner with the University to ensure a successful hosting of the games. We did that for Bayero University, Kano (BUK) when they hosted the last edition of the Nigeria University Games (NUGA). We see Unilorin as part of our own and we shall partner with you to ensure a successful hosting of the Games.”
“Whatever you want us to do, even in the area of advertisement as you mentioned, you can articulate them and let’s see them. And in the area of mass-communication we welcome the request and are ready to support the university in that direction.”
Earlier in his remark, Professor Ish-aq Oloyede, said the hosting right of the games has brought lots of responsibilities on Nigeria and the university, adding that it calls for contribution from everybody for the successful hosting of the games.
“Among the line-up for the event is visitation to media houses, where your assistance is needed in terms of corporate and individual support for the successful hosting of the games. We know we need your support.”
“As media practitioner, many people hate you and many also love you, but none of those who hate you can do without you, because they know your opinions matter. So, we ask you to please help to appeal to individual and corporate bodies so that we can have successful hosting of the games,” Oloyede solicited.
The VC also urged Media Trust to partner with the university as an official newspaper, saying such partnership will mutually benefit Media Trust and Unilorin.
