Media Trust ratifies retirement of pioneer directors

Alhaji Ajibola who recently turned 50, was its pioneer General Manager from 1996. He later became Executive Director in charge of Operations in 2003, a post he held until 2007, when he was promoted to the post of Managing Director/Chief Operating Officer of the company.
While endorsing the retirement at its 2014 Annual General Meeting, the board and shareholders of Media Trust Limited, commended the outgoing Managing Director for his  contribution to the growth of the company and noted his meritorious service since its inception.
Similarly, the Chief Executive officer of the company, Malam Kabiru Yusuf, will retire from executive functions from the end of 2015.
Both executives  will remain on the board of the company and continue to contribute their wealth of experience in its policy direction.
It may be recalled that Media Trust Limited began newspaper publication in 1998 with the Weekly Trust in Kaduna and later moved to Abuja and expanded to include the Daily Trust, Sunday Trust, a  Hausa language weekly, Aminiya and an annual magazine, Kilimanjaro. In addition to the recent completion of a 5 storey head office in the Utako district of Abuja, its titles, which are published at its own  printing presses in Abuja, Kano and Maiduguri, are expected to get a boost when its new printing press in Lagos comes on stream shortly.
