Media Trust Limited, the publishers of Daily Trust, Aminiya and Kilimanjaro newspapers last week unveiled Teen Trust newspaper.
The new publication was designed in collaboration with a private firm – School Hunters; to encourage teenagers, especially those in secondary schools, to become efficient writers as well as develop a proper reading habit.
Speaking during the pre-launch over the weekend in Abuja, the company’s Associate Director of Business and Strategy, Mr Aliu Akoshile, said the newspaper would offer an opportunity to students in secondary schools to learn and also be entertained.
He called for the promotion of any initiative that will help to improve quality education in Nigeria, stressing that Teen Trust will promote reading and writing skills.
He said the newspaper will be launched on May 26 in Abuja.
On her part, Chief Executive Officer of the School Hunters, Shola Okpodu, said the publication was going to receive articles written by students and called on schools to encourage their students to participate.
Okpodu announced that Teen Trust clubs would be established in selected schools during the summer break.
