The Group Executive Director, Digital and Editorial, Media Trust Group, Naziru Mikailu, said the management introduced the Creativity and Innovative Award to encourage staff to be more creative and innovative on the job.

According to him, given the way the media industry is changing and its audience, the digital disruption in the sector indicates that staff need to be encouraged.

“The company wants them to task themselves to be more creative in the way they handle their assignments. We thank God that some have adopted this, and we have many people who have come out with different ways of innovation while discharging their work,” he said.

The GED advised other staff to key into the concept, saying it is important for them and the growth of the company.

He also urged the staff to be ready to be innovative and to follow the trend in journalism and not allow themselves to be left behind.
