Medical workers seek improved salaries, working conditions

Medical workers seek improved salaries, working conditions

The Bauchi State government has been urged to implement the Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) approved by Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar and improve staff working conditions.

‎The chairman of the state branch of National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP), Dr. Musa Yusuf, made the appeal in Bauchi after the association’s emergency congress.  He also called on the government to also address irregularities on their salaries, especially those who are yet to be paid.

Yusuf commended Governor Mohammed Abubakar for approving the new salary scale for members of his association since 2017, but lamented that despite the approval the new  scale was yet to be implemented.
