The shortlisted works for the ANA/Cadbury include Hyginus Ekwuazi’s The Monkey’s Eyes, Akachi Adiomora-Ezeigbo’s Heartsongs and Uthman Akanbi’s Verdant Verses.

Moses Tsenuogu’s Emblems, Iboro Effiong’s “Uyio Ndiobo” and other Poems, and E.E. Sule’s “What the Sea Told Me” made it to the ANA/NDDC Gabriel Okara Prize for Poetry.

For the ANA/Flora Nwapa prize, shortlisted are Akachi Adiomora-Ezeigbo’s “Trafficked”, Goldyn Ugonna’s “Beyond Imagination” and Umoke Verissiomo’s collection of poetry, “I am Memory”.

In the ANA/NDDC Ken Saro Wiwa category, Toni Kan’s Nights of the Creaking Bed, a collection of short stories; Ozioma Izuora’s Dreams Deferred and Chiubem Iweka’s The Ancient Curse.

Theophilus Abbah’s Nightmare is competing with Fidelis Okoro’s Cracking the Shell and Inyang Ekwo’s Storm in the Will for the ANA/Jacaranda Prize for Prose.

For the ANA/Lantern Prize for Children’s Fiction, Chiaka Obasi’s The Legacy is contending with Henry Akubuiro’s The Little Wizard of Okokomaiko; while Moses Olufemi’s Imuli’s Journey, Ndidi Enenmor’s One Little Mosquito, Grace Fehintolaoluwa Osifekun’s The Babarat Family and other Stories, and John Okafor’s The King’s Crown are shortlisted for the ANA/Atiku Abubakar for Literature.

On the list for the ANA/James Henshaw Prize for Playwriting are Ade Adeniji’s Dance of the Scared Feet, Ugo Stephenson’s Pride of the Living and Adenubi Oluwatoyin’s Ijakadi.

In the ANA/NDDC JP Clark prize category, Victor Dugba’s Hope Harvesters and John Iwuh’s Spellbound are contesting.

Shortlisted for the ANA/Funtime Prize for Children’s Literature are Roy Nkowcha’s Cry No More, Ayo Opakundi’s Okeru The Tailess Dog, Nmahassan’s The Dead Man’s Ring, Osarobor Igudia’s The Missing Letter as well as Tamunobaradi Ibulubo’s Touch The Sky.

Meanwhile, for the ANA/Chevron Prose Prize on Environmental Issues, only one entry, according to the judges, deserves to be shortlisted and the winner of the prize worth $2,000 is going to be announced at the ANA Convention slated to hold in Minna, Niger State, later this year.
