The Abuja Mega Lions Club, District 404A2 of Lions International, has disclosed its intention to enrich the Abuja City Library as part of its humanitarian activities within the next year.
Dr Charles Bassey, the club’s 5th President for the 2025/2026 Lions year, disclosed this while speaking during his investiture last weekend.
Lion Dr Bassey, a psychologist, banker, and resourcefulness coach, said his administration would focus on impactful service delivery and legacy-driven projects.
On Friday, the group hosted a triple celebration to mark its 5th anniversary, the investiture of new officers, and a N50 million fundraising dinner aimed at supporting humanitarian projects in the Federal Capital Territory.
“Service beyond today encapsulates our drive and mindset to ensure that every project we do outlives us and is a legacy that keeps blessing the lives of those who receive,” he said.
The fundraising dinner, which targeted N50 million, is expected to support a range of humanitarian initiatives, including the digitisation, renovation, and enrichment of the City Library in Abuja.
The club said the effort reflects its commitment to community development and inclusive service.
“We are thrilled to mark this milestone anniversary and look forward to another year of service, fellowship, and community engagement,” Dr Bassey added.
