Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, has just been admitted into Zankili Medical Center, Mabuchi, in the federal capital territory (FCT).
He was said to have been brought into the hospital after sustaining injuries in a bid to escape.
DailyTrust reports that embattled Senator was rescued and whisked by some suspected loyal thugs to safety from the fully armed Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
The drama which began at 2.10 pm lasted for about six minutes with the suspected thugs in two Hilux pick up double-crossing the police escort, jerked up Melaye and threw him into one of the vans and speed off.
DailyTrust learnt that the hospital ambulance brought him at the hospital around 4:25pm, after which he was admitted into the emergency unit.
There were no security operatives when he arrived.
