Earlier, a Special Thanksgiving Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God at Wuse 2, Abuja was organized for the Senator.
Speaking during the session, Melaye appreciated God for escaping two assassination attempts.
He said the first was in his country home of Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu local government area of Kogi state and the second at the front of Kogi State Polytechnic in Lokoja, all in 2017.
"That had barely ended, then there was the certificate saga that I didn’t go to school. It raged on as if heaven was going to come down, but Jehovah God came down again and justified Himself in my life.
"They started the agenda to recall me and I say it is God that called me, those who did not call me cannot recall me and God again manifested Himself," Melaye narrated.
