New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP)

A Kano State House of Assembly member representing Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso’s constituency, Madobi, Hon. Kabiru Yusuf Isma’il, has decamped from the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano state.

His decamping comes barely a few days after the APC lost a sitting Senator, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau to the NNPP, who was received by the National leader of the party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

A statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba revealed that a member representing Dawakin Kudu local government, Hon. Mu’azzam El-Yakubu has also dumped Kwankwaso’s NNPP for the APC.

He said the gale of defection has recently swept across the NNPP, particularly the state and National Assembly members.

Malam Garba said already a member of the state legislature representing Bagwai/Shanono, Isa Ali rejoined the APC days after decamping to the NNPP.

There has been a series of decamping from one party to another in the state as the 2023 general elections draw close.

Last month, 14 members of the state’s House of Assembly decamped from PDP and APC to the NNPP, with some returning back to the APC a few days after they decamed.
