ECOWAS member states have indicated readiness to organize national meeting in their respective countries to sensitise citizens on the new regional Community Strategic Framework (CSF).
Chairman, Heads of ECOWAS National Offices, Benedict Roberts disclosed this while addressing journalists in Lagos.
Roberts, who is also the Head of ECOWAS national office in Liberia, said the five-year CSF is one that requires all Heads of National offices to have proper understanding of it before returning to their respective countries for awareness and sensitization summits aimed at getting the citizens involved.
He said that the implementation of the CSF lies squarely with the National Offices, urging the delegates to ensure its success in all member states. The CSF was adopted by the ECOWAS Council of Ministers in December 2015 and is already being implemented; as the 2016 Community Budget was based on the CSF. All ECOWAS institutions/agencies are expected to draw their programmes from this framework.
