Deacon Shola Mese (JP) has emerged as the Vice Captain of Ogunu Golf Club following his victory over Chief Blessing Oboh in the club’s election.
The election, held on May 19 in Warri, saw Mese secure 57 votes against Oboh’s 41 votes out of the 98 total votes cast.
Other elected officials include Captain Fabiansky, Secretary Tony Ovie-Whisky, Communication Secretary Shaibu, and House Officer Ehis.
Mese, popularly known as “FBI”, thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and pledged inclusive leadership, transparency, and commitment to the growth of the club.

He also promised to promote unity, improve competitions, and strengthen the club’s reputation within Nigeria’s growing golf community.
“Every member matters. I want a club where everyone feels respected, involved, and proud to belong,” he added.
Mese, who is also the founder of the Shola Mese Foundation, pledged support for quality tournaments, improvement of the Ladies’ Section of the club, and stronger participation in social and sporting activities.
According to him, his experience across several golf clubs nationwide would help introduce best practices to Ogunu Golf Club.
