The Movement for Islamic Culture and Awareness (MICA), Abuja chapter a non- governmental organization has made donated cash and relief to over 200 patients at the National hospital, Abuja.

Donating the materials at the recently,  Programme team lead, MICA Abuja Chapter, Bayo Mohammed Onimode said it was part of their religious induction to carry out the charity train and donate to the needy. 

He also said, “Beyond religion, from human perspective, it is important to reach out to those in need, it is rewarding to do so. If you go round the wards, you realise that some are done with their treatment but, cannot go home because they still owe the hospital. This is where MICA comes in, we usually give them relief materials and financial assistance.”

He said MICA charity train was a means of reaching out to patients, irrespective of religion and tribe, adding, “we cannot do this alone, we need more people, corporate organisations, embassies to donate to the course of Allah, so we can do this more frequently.”

Also speaking, MICA attract/retain lead, Mrs. Olowoporoku Sakirah said the organization was working towards equipping primary healthcare centers within the FCT, during Ramadan period.

Sakirah said MICA,  is an Islamic non-governmental organization, whose primary focus is spiritual upliftment, capacity building, charity drive and community service.
