Determined to remove barriers to vehicle financing, Mikano Motors has entered a strategic partnership with Autochek Africa, Nigeria’s leading digital automotive and financing platform.

Through the partnership which was unveiled at a joint briefing by the two organisations on Friday, Nigerians can purchase brand new vehicles from Mikano Motors while Autochek facilitates access to financing.

The press conference held at the Mikano Motors Showroom in Victoria Island, Lagos had representatives of Autochek led by its Chief Executive Officer, Etop Ikpe and Mikano Motors team in attendance.

With the partnership, customers can browse the full Mikano Motors lineup, including Changan, Maxus, and other brands within its portfolio on a dedicated Mikano Motors Virtual Showroom hosted on the Autochek platform.

From a single interface, buyers can compare models side-by-side, apply for structured automotive loans, explore flexible payment plans, and receive faster credit decisions, completing key stages of the purchase process without stepping into a showroom.

Group Executive Director of Mikano Motors, Joelle Haykal, reiterated that the collaboration is an extension of its ownership philosophy, saying it is the strong belief of Mikano Motors that every Nigerian has a right to own a new car.

She said, “Our focus has always been on delivering not just new vehicles, but a complete ownership experience. That includes up to six years’ warranty or up to 200,000 kilometres, nationwide after sales support, and the confidence that comes from a 33-year legacy of trust.

“Our vehicles are built for Nigerian roads engineered for durability and performance, so our customers always drive with peace of mind. This partnership allows us to combine premium mobility with smart financing solutions, giving customers greater flexibility, confidence, and control over how they own a vehicle.”

According to her, Mikano is poised to make Nigerians’ dream of brand new vehicles becoming a reality. She said driving a brand new vehicle guarantees peace of mind with extended warranty to make the experience memorable.

The CEO of Autochek reiterated that the partnership deepens its footprint with a marquee OEM partner and extends the reach of its embedded financing infrastructure to Mikano’s established customer base across Nigeria.

“The demand for vehicles in Nigeria has never been an issue; access to financing has,” said Ikpe, adding, “At Autochek, our focus has always been to improve access to finance. Our view has always been that there is capital in the financial institutions and the problem has always been how do we get that capital to go to where it is needed.

“Our partnership with Mikano Motors is designed to close that gap. By combining Mikano’s premium vehicle portfolio with our embedded financing technology, we are unlocking access to multiple banking partners with fast approvals so that anyone can find an offer that suits them, allowing more Nigerians to own brand-new cars with confidence.”

He revealed that a subscriber only needs to pay 30 per cent of the equity value while spreading the remaining balance across four to six years depending on the vehicle.

Ikpe added that no fewer than 21 financial institutions that work with Autochek, saying a subscriber would get a conditional offer within 30 seconds after completing the application process on Autochek website.
