The military high command says its troops on internal operations have recovered two calibrated aircraft engines from a longtime unidentified aircraft crash site in Borno State.
It also revealed that the troops killed no fewer than 75 terrorists and arrested 138 suspects while 46 hostages were rescued during the operations between January 3 and February 13, 2025.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Markus Kangye, a Major-General, disclosed these to journalists at Defence Headquarters in Abuja during a press briefing.
“Two calibrated aircraft engines from a longtime unidentified aircraft crash site, one double barrel cannon gun and 16 missiles were also recovered,” he said.

Kangye said troops also arrested 36 suspected oil thieves and recovered stolen products worth N646,189,690.00.
According to him, the troops within the period under review recovered 104 assorted weapons and 2,639 ammunition.
Meanwhile, in the Niger Delta, he said troops recovered 497,152 litres of stolen crude oil, 142,000 litres of illegally refined AGO and 4,075 litres of PMS within the period under review.
Furthermore, the troops discovered and destroyed 164 crude oil cooking ovens, 37 dugout pits, 19 boats, 16 storage tanks, 38 drums and 42 illegal refining sites.
Other items recovered include; three pumping machines, four tricycles, seven motorcycles, five mobile phones and three vehicles among others.
